Tómas Lemarquis

In his 100 pages drawing book “Chimera”, Tómas Lemarquis is creating a comic-like publication, where dozens of weird beings and strange semi animal semi human creatures speak to express freely, to open themselves to the reader or just to wander about themselves. Each page is a separate story which reflects different parts of the artist and even bare a small resemblance to him. Through funny sharp jokes, erroneous ideas or semi-philosophical speculations, the hundred characters of “Chimera”, work like a distorted but right reflection of the fears, failures or distortions of the human beings, each of us.

1. A she-monster in Greek mythology represented as vomiting flames and usually as having a lion's head, goat's body, and dragon's or serpent's tail or a lion's body and head together with a goat's head rising from the back
