For his solo show at gallery air garten in Berlin 2008, Tómas Lemarquis created an architectural installation made of 13 glass towers lighted up from the sides, mainly made of all kinds of glass lamps found in flea markets or antiquarians ... This city is a kind of futuristic fantasy that may also be seen as a film set. Some similarities can even be found with Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow as well. But symbolically, like in dream interpretation for example, a house can also stand for its inhabitant itself. Here in this installation of Tómas Lemarquis, the up-lighted translucent towers, like psychoanalytic over selves, do not cling on to anything. The light simply shines and reflects through them...
